Throughout the year, the city, county, Malad Area Chamber of Commerce and various organizations sponsor activities for residents and non-residents.
Ongoing activities include the Malad Senior/Community Center located at 26 North Main where lunches are served to all senior citizens on Wednesday and Friday at 12:00 noon for a cost of $3.50 for senior citizens, $4.00 for home delivery and $5.00 if you are not a senior citizen. The Curlew Senior Citizens meet every Tuesday and Thursday at the Stone Elementary School/Community Center.

Following is a list of events that are planned for the year 2021:
- January 16 - 12th Annual Big Dog Ice Fishing Derby at Devil Creek Reservoir.
- February 24 - The annual Crisis Center Gala and Benefit Auction. This will be held at the Oneida County Event Center at 6:30 pm.
- March 1 - The Malad Welsh Society sponsors the annual St. David’s Day Celebration.
- March 17 - Nell J Redfield Memorial Hospital Health and Wellness Fair at 8:00 am to noon. This will be at the Oneida County Event Center (fairgrounds).
- March 24 & 25 - Cowboy Poets & Musicians at the Iron Door Playhouse -
- April 8 - The Saturday before Easter Sunday each year, the Chamber sponsors the Malad Easter Egg Hunt, held at the Malad City Park to accommodate the various ages of children from 0-12. Many private citizens and local business owners get involved by donating eggs and helping the Easter Bunny hide eggs for the children.
- April 9– Malad Ecumenical Council Easter Sunrise Service at 8:00 a.m. at the Malad City Park, followed by a potluck breakfast.
- April 6 - Annual Evening of the Arts, Sponsored by the Nell J Redfield Memorial Hospital Foundation - 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Oneida County Event Center.
- April 22,23- 29, 30 -May 6, 7, - Malad Gun Club Trap Shoots.
- May 6 - Malad Distinguished Young Women Program. This will be at the Malad Elementary School Auditorium and will begin at 7:00 p.m.
- May 7 – The Malad Valley Community Chorus will present its annual spring concert, under the direction of Ralph Bennett at the Malad 2nd/4th/5th Ward at 7:00 p.m.
- May 12 & 13 – Malad High School Rodeo at the Oneida County Fairgrounds.
- May 5 & 6 - Malad Valley Renaissance Faire & Baby Animals Spring Festival. This is will held at Malad Valley Heritage Square at Samaria Idaho.
- May 6, 7 & 9th– Malad Theater Guild Mother’s Day production, ""
- May 23 - Oneida County Hall of Fame Banquet. This will be at 6:30 at the Oneida County Event Center (fairgrounds).
- May 26 – LeGrande Aqua Plunge (swimming pool) opens. The Aqua Plunge sponsors swimming lessons throughout the summer along with water aerobics and other activities.
- May 27– The Oneida County Museum opens.
- May 30 - Traditional Memorial Day Services at the ten cemeteries. Sponsored by the American Legion Ernest W. Jones Post#65.
- June 4 – 29th Annual Malad Classic Car & Bike Show sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce will be held on Main Street with J.C. Hackett as disc jockey. Owners bring their old time cars and bikes from miles around to display at the vintage car show. A tour of the valley and other activities add to the fun. Awards are given for various categories. New this year is Vintage Campers and Trailers. - 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- June 30-July 2 The 15th annual Malad Valley Welsh Festival will be held at the Malad City Park at the 2nd/4th/5th, LDS Ward building located at 20 S. 100 W. Experts on Welsh history will present workshops and give individual consultations both days. Dancing, singing, music, and other cultural events are scheduled. Pioneer games, heritage crafts and food booths, a community lunch on Friday, and community breakfast on Saturday are all part of the events planned. Tours of Malad’s historic sites will be offered throughout the two days, as well as tours of Samaria, Idaho, and the Osmond cabin. Sunday, July 2 will feature a fireside at the Presbyterian Church. Refreshments will be served.
- July 1, 3&4 -Melodrama , sponsored by the Malad Theater Guild.
- July 3 – 5:30 p.m. Children's Parade, 6:00 p.m. Malad Volunteer of the Year announcement, Snake River New Horizons Bank, 6:45 p.m. Malad’s Got Talent
- July 4 - At sunrise on July 4, a cannonade begins the day’s activities along with a Fun Run sponsored by the Malad Distinguished Young Woman Committee. An Early Bird Breakfast will begin at approximately 6:30 a.m., and the parade in honor of July 4 will begin at 10:00 a.m. The day will end with a spectacular fireworks at the Oneida County Fairgrounds.
- July 28 & 29-Residents of Samaria, will host the 22nd annual Samaria Days celebration. Friday will feature the queen contest where contestants compete in such events as decorating cupcakes, wrapping presents the fastest and water relays. A country breakfast will start off the day on Saturday, followed by a parade, booths, games and contests, which make for a fun filled day. Visitors can stop in at the Blue Goose, a historical building restored as an old time country store, the new Malad Valley Welsh Heritage Park and the Davis (Osmond family) cabin where the family matriarch, Olive Davis was born. - July 21 & 22– for some wild-west fun, the 68th annual Curlew Valley Rodeo will be held in Stone, Idaho, at the Stone Rodeo grounds.
- August 5, 6,12 & 13 - Parimutuel Horse Racing, sponsored by Oneida County, will be held at the Oneida County Fairgrounds- 1:00 p.m.
- August 14-19 - The Oneida County Fair begins with fair entries by local residents and 4-H, vendors and displays.
- August - Freestyle Moto Insanity plus UTV/ATV Races, - 7:30 pm, $5.00 Admission
- August - Team Roping 6:00 pm
- August – Team Branding 7:30 p.m. - Fab Folk Concert 7:30 pm (free admission) in the Sale Arena
- August - Scales & Tails Reptile Show- 4:00 pm -Free Admission in the Sales Arena
- August 17 &18 - The Oneida Cowboy Classic Rodeo, 7:30 pm, $5.00 admission
- August 19 – Search & Rescue Breakfast, 6:30am to 9:00am -Fat Stock Sale, 9:30 a.m. Family Fun Rodeo 7:30 pm, $5.00 Admission
- August 19 – Swimming pool closes.
- September 5– Oneida County Museum is closed for the season.
- October 12 – Malad PTO will sponsor the annual Halloween Carnival at the Oneida County Fairgrounds.
- October 15, 16, 18, 22 &23 - The Iron Door Playhouse "Clue On Stage" 7:00 pm $8.00 General Seating (208-851-8781)
- October 7 & 8 - Heritage Harvest Festival. this will be held at the Malad Valley Heritage Square
- October 31 – Members of the Malad Area Chamber of Commerce will participate in the annual business costume contest
- November 29– The Malad Chamber of Commerce begins the Shop Malad initiative, this runs through December,14th
- November 27 & 28- Home Town Christmas Craft Fair. This will be at the Oneida County Event Center.
- November 26- "Spirit of Christmas Light Parade" 7:00 p.m.
- November 26 - "Lights in the Park" - Daily at the Malad City Park - 5:30pm to 10:30 pm.
- December - The Malad Merchants’ Christmas Coloring Contest and Grand Prize drawing, sponsored by The Idaho Enterprise continues to be popular here even after 34 years.
- December 2 - " Home for Christmas Parade of Homes Fundraiser" 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm - sponsored by the Iron Door Playhouse
- December 3- The 98th Annual Firemen’s Ball will be held at the American Legion building which features a live band and drawings for merchandise.
- December - Annual Christmas Coloring Contest grand prize drawing 5:30 -9:00p.m. at the Oneida County Event Center
- December – Following the Coloring Contest Drawing , Malad Area Chamber of Commerce brings Santa Claus to town with the help of the Malad Chamber of Commerce who helps him pass out treats to local children who have the chance to sit on his knee and give him their Christmas wish lists.
- December - Victory Baptist Church Christmas Concert from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- December - The Malad Interfaith Council "Live Nativity" at the Malad First Presbyterian Church at 5 Chapel Lane from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- December - Festival of Trees 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Oneida County Event Center
- December - Malad Theater Guild presents “The Santa Trap & There Arose such a Clatter”. 7:00 p.m. at the Iron Door Playhouse.
- December - The Malad Valley Community Chorus will present the annual Christmas Concert at the Malad 2nd/4th/5th Ward at 7:00 p.m., under the direction of Ralph Bennett.
- December - "Live Nativity" 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm - 4716 West 3500 North - bring a can food donation.
